Learning through play

The teaching team at Ormond Kindergarten are Samantha Jennings  (Head Teacher), Cath Hagan, Katie Hustler, Stephne McLeod and Cathy Kirkpatrick. They are supported by their passionate teacher aide, Shizuka O’Rourke.

Ormond Kindergarten is fairly new to the Gisborne Kindergarten Association umbrella. The purpose-built kindergarten opened in August 2012. The kindergarten is where the Ormond preschool previously was on the Ormond School grounds.

Our kindergarten caters for children from two to five years, with 29 places. The teaching team are professional teachers, who are fully qualified, warm, friendly and enthusiastic about providing a quality learning environment for young children.

At Ormond Kindergarten we believe that children should establish and maintain relationships, persist in the face of adversity, identify and solve problems, find humour, be curious and communicate with purpose and meaning.
