Kaiti Kindergarten is situated within the Kaiti School grounds.
Your professionally-qualified teachers are Yvonne Broughton (Head Teacher), Rozeeta Sinel, Tangiwai Tuala and Te Huinga Koia. They are committed to the philosophy that “an environment where identity and the culture of tamariki are valued, teachers work in partnership with whanau to enhance learning and provide rich experiences, whanaungatanga flourishes”.
Our whanau, community and teachers have identified five critical learning areas — whanaungatanga, manaakitanga, rangitiratanga, whaiwahitanga and tataritanga. Our assessment, planning and evaluation of group and individual learning are measured against these critical learning areas.
Strong supportive relationships are central to the programme, with a transition process for tamariki starting school each week, regular visits from our community constable, kapahaka sessions and regular visits from hearing, vision and dental health personnel.
We see tamariki as creative thinkers who are capable and competent and able to make positive choices for themselves. Teachers are there to role model, support, work and learn alongside tamariki. We acknowledge that each child arrives here with not only their own story and experiences but those also of their whanau and tipuna.
